Good Faith Estimate and Related Considerations

Hi I am Tizita Seifu, a Board licensed Therapist in private practice, with over 10 years’ experience. I provide adult and child therapy online throughout Texas, Virginia and Georgia and specialize in mental wellness, anxiety, depression,  career and workplace, Christian faith and spiritual health, culture and race, and parent-child relationships.

Good Faith Estimate

Under Section 2799B-6 of the Public Health Service Act, health care providers are required to inform individuals who are not enrolled in a health insurance plan or coverage or a Federal health care program, or not seeking to file a claim with their plan or coverage of their ability, upon request or at the time of scheduling health care items and services, to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” of expected charges.

You have the right to receive a “Good Faith Estimate” explaining how much your medical care will cost, such as therapy or professional counseling or other professional mental healthcare services.

You can ask your health care provider and any other provider you choose, for a “Good Faith Estimate” in writing before you schedule a service.

You can ask your healthcare provider for a “Good Faith Estimate” at least 1 business day before your scheduled service, or at any time during treatment.

If you receive a bill that is at least $400 more than your “Good Faith Estimate”, you can dispute the bill.

For questions or more information about your right to a “Good Faith Estimate”, contact info@thejourneyinspired.com or visit www.cms.gov/nosurprises

Related Considerations:

The “Good Faith Estimate” can be calculated as (the session fee) x (the number of sessions planned)=the Good Faith Estimate.

The length of therapy depends on key considerations such as your primary concerns, your goals for therapy, how significantly your concerns may be affecting your mood and function, the length of time you have had your concerns, your general capacity to manage your concerns, and your medical history.  The length of therapy is ultimately decided by the client and their goals for therapy.

Since mental health and professional mental healthcare takes into consideration your individual identity, experience, health, needs and goals, I will need to see you for approximately 1-3 sessions for assessment before I can make personalized clinical recommendations about treatment.
